Today we started our fitness-a-thon. We had to run around the school. It was hard work!

Introduction:

What’s your most favourite game? Is it it soccer, rugby, or cricket, or xbox, PS3 or Ps4 or how about minecraft? Do you know what is minecraft? Would you like to know more on it? If yes, then let start , i am so excited to share with you today !!

Big Idea 1: what is minecraft ?

Minecraft is a game filled Imagination and creativity.  The two gentlemen, who are so creative in making this game, they are called Markus and Jens.  They created minecraft in 17 May 2009.

Big Idea 2:

This is how you play minecraft. If you are on a computer, the mouse is for the looking around and controls everything. The keys you can use are W, S, A, & D and are the moving controls and to fly, press space if you're in creative mode.

Big Idea 3: uses of minecraft

Minecraft is about placing and mining blocks to make tiny worlds. The game world is made up of 3D cubes which are used as dirt, stone, various ores, water and tree trunks. Players get these blocks and use them to make buildings and other sort of places.

Concluding Statement

I think everyone should play minecraft so you can learn more about building and coding in a fun way.

The Mighty Gorilla

Gorillas live in dense forests in Africa.Men finds the gorilla fascinating. The gorilla is a primate which is closely related to humanity.

What do Gorillas look like?

The gorilla has a thick trunk with a large head and shiny black hair. It has big muscles and grows up to 6 feet tall. Gorilla lives for up to 50 years. They have big hands they used to explore and investigate.

Diet

Gorilla’s need a lot of food and  they are vegetarian. A  vegetarian is an animal which only eats vegetables. They eat variety plants, wild celery, bamboo, thistles and stinging nettles

Habitat

Gorillas live in dense forests and woodland in Africa.  They live 10,000 feet up in the mountains.  Their whole life is about finding food. Up in the mountains it is  cloudy, misty and cold.

Behaviour

They sleep in nests in trees. They have good eyesight and their nose can smell stuff good and they have small ears, they live in family group. They are gentle and placid. The  leader is the silver back which is the male. They groom one another and they play and graze.  They do not like to be threatened if you threaten them you will possibly die.

Gorillas are very gentle and funny with their family but if a stranger appears and they feel threatened they become protective and aggressive. I think they are a funny animal because when playing they act funny.

Race relations Day

Today is at Owairaka School. I dressed up in a costumes that represent a culture that is important to us. We had a chance to show off our costumes at school assembly by walking across the stage. In Room 21 we decided the reason why we love today so much because we have a huge shared lunch with the rest of the school. We get to eat food from all around the world. YUM! i can't wait.
